So we all know that Hans was working fervently to help Alice recover from her coma and stuff, yada yada.
But might have there been a part of him that wanted Alice to accompany him into the void?
Mustn't there have been?
Evidence:
Yubikiri-Genman - Deemo pinky-promises to help Alice recover in a bed of flowers, but the thorns on his feet show that it hurts to give her up. He can't follow her either.
Entrance - The biggest giveaway - a dark side of Deemo is greedy to keep Alice. Would it be so wrong to have his bestest friend and sister follow him, when even the masked part of Alice already wants to follow him?
Legacy - I... I can't even. Stop the tears from flowing down my face. Parting must break Deemo's heart.
But in the end, Hans does his best.
Plays the music that heals her, that allows her to dream, that allows the tree to grow.
And in the end, he lets her go, and he takes a last sad glance at the trace of the masked child. The part of Alice that wants to stay with Hans, and finally accepts the fact that her brother knows what's best for her.
